    This place is killer. It's different than the current Austin trend of heavy bark on the brisket, this is a more old school, style with more flavor. All of it has a lot of smoke flavor, especially the sausage. Hands down best sausage!

    Amazing! I work down on Airport and have been meaning to try the place for quite a while. Last Saturday, I finally did and I am sorry it took me so long! The brisket was perfect. The potato salad was top notch. The customer service was wonderful. The owner greeted me like we were old friends - I will definitely be back.

    It's a hidden gem in the ATX!

    The spot definitely throws you off as it's connected to a gas station. Stuffed in the corner was her spot, unfortunately for us we came towards the end of the night where we got the scraps. She definitely made meals for all of us (4 kids, 4 adults) from what was left. She tried to take care of us with what she had and of course have us a deal. I believe if we had been there with all the food available, this rating would have been 5 stars!

    This is the speakeasy of BBQ joints. Hidden away inside the Citgo on Airport at 38 1/2 you can smell it as soon as you walk inside. We had brisket, chicken, and sausage. All were tender, flavorful, and well seasoned. Lula Mae's is a hidden gem that won't be secret for very long. This is a take out place so don't expect tables and citgo has a wide variety of craft beers to go with your smoked meats.
